Billing
Shoesy AI is billed monthly through Shopify Billing. Every charge appears on your standard Shopify invoice — no separate payment method, no separate login.
Plans
| Plan | Price | product_groups indexed |
Assisted conversations / month (soft cap) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $39 / mo | 300 | 150 |
| Growth | $79 / mo | 1,000 | 400 |
| Pro | $249 / mo | 5,000 | 1,500 |
A Custom plan exists for larger merchants with Gorgias, Klaviyo, or multi-store needs — see shoesy.ai/pricing. A Pro plan also unlocks catalog quality on the Catalog page and the option to remove the "Powered by Shoesy.AI" widget branding — these switch on the moment your Pro plan is active, trial included.
product_groups is the catalog unit you actually pay against — one PDP with all its colors and sizes is one product, not 42 SKUs. The Catalog page shows how many products are indexed and flags you when your plan's cap is holding part of the catalog back from the index; Home carries a compact version of the same status.
Trial
A 14-day trial ships with every install, on whichever plan you pick — during the trial you get that plan's every feature and its full monthly conversation cap, free until the trial converts. When your trial converts to paid, the usage meter resets to zero and a fresh 30-day billing cycle starts — trial usage never counts against your first paid month. Payment is set up and taken by Shopify on its own plan page, never by us. Cancel before the trial ends for $0. Your trial status and end date show on the Plan & usage section's Billing card, a countdown banner appears on Home as the end approaches, and the ROI summary of what the assistant did during the trial is on Home too.
Until a trial or plan is active, shoppers see no chat bubble at all — the assistant is hidden from them entirely, not answering in a limited way. A banner above the dashboard tabs says so on every page until you start one. You can still look at it yourself: Try it now in the status bar opens your storefront through a preview link that shows the widget (on a password-protected storefront enter the password, then press it again; questions there return "Start your 14-day free trial to get live answers" until you start one), and Test assistant gives you real answers regardless.
What counts as an "assisted conversation"
An assisted conversation is a conversation in which the assistant actually helped — it gave at least one real answer from your catalog, your policies, or the shopper's order. However many questions the shopper asks in it, it counts once. The soft cap on each plan is a usage signal and a guardrail against runaway abuse — it is not the sales anchor. The sales anchor is product_groups.
A conversation starts when a shopper sends a message in the widget and ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. A shopper who comes back the next day starts a new one.
Counted (one each):
- "Do these run small?" → assistant recommends a size. One conversation.
- Shopper asks about sizing, returns, and shipping in one visit → assistant answers all three. Still one conversation.
- Shopper compares three products across ten messages → one conversation.
Not counted — free:
- A shopper writes "hey" and leaves.
- Spam or bot traffic.
- The assistant could not help and only handed the shopper off to you.
The Conversations section lists every conversation, 25 per page, with date-range, Resolved / Unresolved and Counted / Free filters and a full match count — so you can page through and reconcile the whole bill. Each row carries its full transcript, a Resolved / Unresolved status, and a Counted / Free billing chip — so you can read exactly which conversations count and why. The tab also surfaces thumbs-up/down shopper feedback and, for return-related questions, the reason the shopper gave.
Soft cap with a grace band
Your monthly cap on assisted conversations is a soft limit, not a hard wall. When you reach 100% of the cap you'll see a dashboard banner suggesting an upgrade — but the assistant keeps answering. It continues through a 20% grace band above the cap (Starter through 180 assisted conversations, Growth through 480, Pro through 1,800), so a shopper mid-sizing-question never hits a paywall.
Once the grace band is used up, the assistant pauses new conversations until you upgrade your plan or the next billing cycle resets the counter. The grace band is free — there is no per-conversation overage charge.
Switching plans
You can switch plans at any time, in either direction. Manage plan on the Plan & usage section takes you to Shopify's plan page for Shoesy AI — the same page you chose your plan on — where you pick the new plan and confirm it.
Everything about the change happens on that Shopify page: the confirmation, the charge, and any proration between plans are Shopify's own billing doing its standard work. Nothing is billed anywhere else, and closing the page without confirming changes nothing — your current plan simply continues, and you can come back any time.
During your free trial, your remaining trial days carry over when you change plans. Switching never restarts or extends a trial — Shopify tracks the days you have used, and the plan page always shows how many remain.
Conversation credit does not roll over between plans or months.
Cancelling
Uninstall the app in Shopify admin (Apps → Shoesy AI → ⋯ → Uninstall). This cancels the Shopify subscription immediately, so billing stops, and it triggers the data-deletion flow described in our Privacy Policy. If you only want to stop the widget from showing without losing your settings, turn off Show the chat bubble on storefront on the Settings tab instead.
There is no contract, no annual lock-in, and no termination fee.
Branding
The "Powered by Shoesy.AI" line in the widget footer is required on Starter and Growth and not removable there. Pro plans include a branding toggle on the Customize page to hide it. This is intentional: visible branding on smaller stores is the organic-growth engine that keeps the price low for everyone else.
Invoices and questions
Invoices are issued by Shopify and visible in your Shopify admin under Settings → Billing. Anything billing-related that needs a human goes to support@shoesy.ai.
